Sisters, Not Twins is a series in which I offer you alternatives to products I love that are no longer for sale. It’s a crying shame that I can’t link everything. But sometimes I find something because the thrift store gods shone upon me or Anne Taylor only made that coat for one season. Regardless, I’m doing my best and offering you something that I think would be comparable. In all price points.
My sister is a thrifting QUEEN. Half of my closet is clothing that was gifted from her, which she found for $.50 in a bin at Goodwill. It’s unreal. It’s a talent. A divine anointing some say.
She’s so good that you can send her a photo of something you’re looking for at 9 pm on a Sunday night and you’ll get a photo back of something even better by 2 pm the next afternoon. She just doesn’t miss.
This coat is no different. I sent her a TikTok of a girl wearing a vintage “field coat” from L.L. Bean. She instantly replied, “Oh! I have one just like that in my closet that I found in a bin! You can have it.”
I was … elated. I wear this thing all the time. And though I have no idea how old it is, I do know that Jones New York Sport doesn’t make it anymore. And now I just want you to feel the same joy I do about a field coat. Here are some other options I found that I think you might love:
I like how this one is a little longer
than mine and it feels slightly less barn,
more polo club.
This coat is almost identical to mine.
It’s also by far the most expensive on this list. But if you’re jonesin’, here it is.
This one is a little shorter than mine, but if you sized up, I think it would be a very similar vibe. This isn’t even an affiliate link. I just want you to have the happiness I do!
This was the OG coat I was looking for. It’s flannel-lined, heavy enough to be warm but light enough to wear in the fall. Stunnin’.
I know what you’re thinking. Rachel, this is a dude. But just trust me. I saw a girl on TikTok wearing this men’s version and it was PERFECT.
If you happen upon this blog post and some of these options are no longer available, my go-to for secondhand stuff is Poshmark. I find everything on there!
Happy shopping. Let me know if you have a coat like this one that needs to be shared with the world.
Legally, I’ve gotta tell ya … some of the links in this post are affiliate links. All that means I get a lil kickback if you buy anything. It’s not much, but it’s somethin’. I would never recommend something I don’t stand behind though. Promise. I hope you appreciate my honesty as much as I appreciate every penny I earn from these silly posts.
