Here, you'll find really cute photos of families, some links to my favorite things, and just some general musings about life.
I get a little confused every time January 1 comes around. Maybe panicked is the better word…I read all these blogs about hopes and dreams and big moves and decisions as well as contemplative reflections about the previous year. I think they are meant to inspire us. But all they make me do is sweat.
Was I supposed to plan for this day?
Do I need to launch something new before it’s too late?
Have I missed the boat on becoming a better version of myself for another 365 days?!
When Devin and I met in college, one could say we were the unlikeliest of friends. We were both spending a semester in Philadelphia and working as R.A.’s at our dorm. He is an intellectual (and now working as a professor), a word that underplays just how smart he is. I was a bit of a jock in college, not really focusing on studying a whooooole lot.
Principal Zach Rahn from Ashley Elementary School greets each child with a handshake at the start of the school day. On Fridays, the whole school gathers together in an anything-but-quiet assembly in the school gymnasium.
Teachers from each grade give shout-outs to children who have performed especially well that week and all the children cheer each other on. Music pumps through the speakers, kids organize themselves in lines, always tracking the speakers, and everyone holds their hands in up silent applause.
I met Torie through one of my incredible girlfriends, Nicole. Torie was nearing the end of her pregnancy she and Matt realized they wanted some photos taken to remember this time.
I went to their beautiful home here in Denver and we took some photos of their life pre-baby. I had so much fun with them!
Some asshat on the soccer field called me fat last night.* Actually, here is exactly what he said:
“I’m sorry you’re too fat to stop me.”
On a normal night, I could have easily shrugged this off, maybe even laughed about it. And yet…
I was so pumped when Lauren contacted me about taking some photos for her business, Body In Harmony. I knew it would be a chance to a) grow my business portfolio and more importantly, b) photograph horses again!
I first got to do this with my sister-in-law, Kaylan. And Lauren just happens to be her college roommate. (Remember when I said great clients refer great people? Case in point.)
These are my favorite kid-friendly restaurants in Denver. They have perfect menus and accommodations for your hellions and good-enough-to-be-worth-it food for you.
