Here, you'll find really cute photos of families, some links to my favorite things, and just some general musings about life.
I photographed the Nichols a couple months ago, before little Maverick was ready to meet the world. Then he arrived at the beginning of November and I got to hang out with them again!
Rory was as cute as ever and a very proud big sister. Ryan and Becky were just beaming … they are already so in love with him. And how could you not be? Check out his gorgeous eyes!
I always get a little nervous about newborn shoots because the baby is usually unpredictable. If there are a lot of tears and screams, you have to be quick with your shots and accommodate them with temperature, clothing and positioning.
This session was, in a word…enchanting. I remember as we were shooting it, I was thinking, “Man…this is some really beautiful light.” And after snapping photos of each of the kids, I would look at the back of the camera and think, “Geez. Every face they make is captivating.”
I met Charity and Matt through my friend Holly (really great friends refer really great people…just a small lesson I’m learning over and over again in this business). We had never met before the shoot and when I showed up, we weren’t even sure if we would be able to do it.
I’ve been gone a lot lately, taking little weekend trips that have been nothing but life-giving. I went home, to see my family and my babies (not my actual babies). I went to New Orleans, to celebrate life with the big guy. I took mini-trips to the mountains. I had a weekend with my girls.
It just felt right to end it all with Portland. Somehow, it was new and nostalgic all at the same time. It’s also fall, and fall is best spent with National Champions…
Jamie is one of the rare few who have found me randomly on the internet. And let me say, I’m just so glad she did.
I instantly clicked with her and Nick, and of course their adorable son Carter. They were my people in the sense that they are a serious sports family. I mean, Carter is named after the one and only Anthony Carter. Growing up in Philadelphia, I appreciate sports fans…it’s a mutual respect thing.
So. The Larsens. Our shoot was not without it’s excitement. There was literally blood, sweat and tears. But we made it…and I’m pretty sure we made it with style.
I’ve already written about Josh on here (he was the Realtor that I told you all to hire…you still should). But now you get to see the whole beautiful family! All seven of ’em…
Last year, my church commissioned me to help out with a fun project. They were in the early stages of launching a new nonprofit, one that would consolidate the church’s various ministries under one umbrella. I got to interview some very cool people and help create some small marketing pieces to help us define what this new nonprofit is all about. (My friend Rachel is the brains and talent behind the design.)
These are my favorite kid-friendly restaurants in Denver. They have perfect menus and accommodations for your hellions and good-enough-to-be-worth-it food for you.
